Why weight loss isn’t important.
Ok don’t get me wrong, weight loss is a simple measurement we use to track progress.
Losing weight will help with your health for sure.
However it’s not the main thing we want for health and longevity.
I could just chop off your leg and you’ll lose a lot of weight.
There’s a lot of studies that show that increased muscle mass helps you live longer and people with lower fat also have more chance of living longer.
A report showed that over a 14 year period with 16,155 participants, that lean mass protects against risk of mortality and excess fat increased the risk. (Link Below)
So if it’s longevity and being stronger you want, then you need to increase your muscle mass and reduce your fat mass.
